To get an Avatar

If you have a correct size picture, you can upload the avatar from your computer.

If you need to resize it.... you could use a site like "Photobucket".

This is a tutorial on how to resize your picture.

http://tutorials.photobucket.com/tutorial_130.html

The "Website (160 X 120)" is a good size to pick. Not too big, not too small.

To get the link code:

http://tutorials.photobucket.com/tutorial_150.html

You want to copy the "Direct link" code. Put your mouse pointer over the code in the box and RIGHT click the mouse. Then select "Copy".

From the "User Control Panel" of our site, select the "Profile" tab. Then select "Edit Avatar". In the box next to "Upload from a URL" you will want to paste the link that you copied from Photobucket.

Hit "Submit". If all went well your new avatar will be loaded, and will be shown on the screen.

Note: Don't worry about the "Avatar dimentions:" boxes. They will show what the size is after loading the avatar.
Have a great day,
Bob

To post a picture:

You can copy the direct link like you did for your avatar, then paste it into your post as shown.
Image

Then you would highlight the link, and click the (Img) button.

This will add the needed codes to the link.

When you preview your post, this is what it would show.

I highly recommend that you preview your post before submiting it. It is a lot easier to change things before the post is submited.

And please try to keep your pictures around 640 X 480 pixles in size.
Have a great day,
Bob

I gotta say, I just am coming around to the fact that computer speak is a tough language! I have a photobucket acct, but I just dont understand how to make it work. I gotta find someone to hold my hand and walk me through it step by step. The instructions just confused me more! :b
