Hello from England

Postby earl » Sat Jul 24, 2010 3:43 am

Hi my names Earl and as the title says I'm from England, I've been riding auto scooters since 2002 when I purchased a 125 Italjet Dragster, after tuning it so much that I blew the engine up 5 times I decided to transplant a 4 stroke engine in it, again I tuned it too much a blew that up, so I decided to go bigger and purchased a brand new Nexus 300 in October last year and I haven't had so much fun in ages.

OK, now that we have an Earl from England, I have an important question.....

What are the zig zaggy lines going down the street mean?

The zig-zag lines mark a zone either side of a Pedestrian Crossing.
It is illegal to park or overtake in that zone.

A pleasure!

In fact, regarding overtaking/passing in that zone, if a vehicle has stopped to let a pedestrian cross and a biker filters to the front so he is beside that vehicle, the biker should wait until it has moved off before setting off himself.
A fellow scooterist friend of mine had a finger-wagging from a police biker for going first in the same circumstances.
