The Nexus is very stable at high speed, i have had the speedo needle off the clock which says 120mph  and the bike was steady and i felt confident doing that speed.

Interesting you bring up the mirrors. The earlier Xciting had mirrors very similar to the Nexus. They dropped them somewhere along the line. My windshield I made to accommodate the handlebars on the earlier Xcitings but not the mirrors on the newer ones. Givi did not make any changes when they moved the mirrors on the scooters. This is one thing I like about the Burgman 650 as well. I have even thought about trying to find some mirrors that mount on the fairing and taking them off the bars.

I also note that on the Aprilia forum that the folks with the Atlantic love em. When we bought the 04 Scarabeo they had an 04 Atlantic in the showroom as well. We chose the Scarabeo 500 because of the bigger 16 inch wheels.

The Mk2 Nexus had the mirrors on the bars which i don't think look very nice.

Thank you for posting the pics of the Mk 1 & 2 Nexus JP.

First time I have had the chance to compare the differences. People talk about them but if you can't see them you sometimes can't get what they mean. Thx again mate.

John, these motors and setup that are in the Piaggio/Aprilia/Gilera just flat out run differently from everything I've experienced and learned. I know comparisons are on charts, still they perform really well. I have a friend that stopped at 120mph on his Scarabeo and he probably is 6'4" at 225lbs. It still had more throttle left. This was before he beefed it up.

I like to have the power for evasive action if needed. Diane and I ran 2 up for 14,000 miles on the AS500ie, loaded down with light weight gear in topbox and tunnel bag. Loved every minute of it on the AS500ie.

I would consider the Nexus if it came here. It's always fun to have one of the few.

And Jim, I dig the mirror location on the 650 Burg.

Ride On!

Yeah Kevin, I think I would look at them seriously if they came here too. I like the style and the powerplant is going to be hard to beat.

johnp sold his Nexus earlier in the year and now has a 650 Burger so I expect he's creating havoc on Burgman USA!
