New Jacket

Postby driftwoodpoint » Tue Jul 06, 2010 7:16 pm

I have a good all weather four season jacket with armor that I have used the past two summers. It feels safe but is so hot that I can hardly stand it on these hot day. Today I bought a new mesh jacket with good armor and what a difference that made. At least even though it was 97 today and just plain hot at least I got some breeze which at least kept me going all day long. Thank goodness for all the good gear and choices out there...

The cute one...LOL just kidding. I will have to look at the label. I'm up at dad's cottage on Lake Erie this week with my daughter and the two grand daughter. I may need a vacation when I get home. Man they wear me out but are sure fun at the same time. Four and Two and they sure have more energy that I do.
The jacket is black and I wish I could have gotten a lighter color but this one had the best armor in it and that's important to me.

There are great deals on the internet on new jackets. Wearing the right gear makes all the difference. I love my new mesh jacket and with the liner it works pretty good but I can see that I'm going to need to go shopping for something that is a little warmer for the fall. I like to try on jackets at the local shops to make sure they fit well then I search the internet for the best deal. My bike's been in the shop for 2 weeks. They still don't have the heat shield that fell off during IRSSR. They did the 4,200 check up and discovered a transmission seal failure. He (Matt my mechanic) also went to replace the cowl that he had ordered and received last fall and discovered he had ordered the wrong color. Said he'd have to eat that cost which I felt bad for since he's only a 2 man shop but it was his mistake. It's not so important to me anymore to have a blemish free bike. Maybe having and seeing those scratches on the body from dropping the bike 2 times are a good reminder of where I've come from in my riding abilities and where I am now. Scars of all kinds in all sorts of places are part of our history and influence who we are and where we've been right? Maybe I should wear them with pride.
